Pedestrian barriers OPO-D-0.9 (TYPE 2) are designed to regulate the movement of pedestrians.
Depending on location and purpose, they are divided into:
- guides - indicating the direction of movement of pedestrians;
- warning - prevents a person from entering a danger zone;
- railings or mesh - used along sidewalks and side dividers
lanes, underground and overground crossings, as well as near overpass supports.
Pedestrian barriers must be able to withstand the horizontal load
concentrated load on the handrails of 0.3 kN (at any point along the length of the handrail).
The height of the pedestrian railings should be
from 0.8 to 1.0 m (OPO-D/0.8 and OPO-D/1.0), mesh - from 1.2 to 1.5 m.
